In this kind of business perspective, the company’s priority is the client – adapting the culture of the customer being the on the right side of every situation. Through CSR, BPO companies focus more on the need not only of their client but also of their employees and the community. According to the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), CSR is defined as the continuing commitment by [the] business to contribute to economic development while improving the quality of life of the workforce and their families as well as of the community and society at large.” It is the heart of the business – more than reaching its goals to gain and grow customers and earn profit.

Also, tough competition result to added pressure to agents and a lot of overtime work. Because of this, employee attrition rate continue to increase. However, some big BPO companies have stated that CSR programs counteract this concern. With the effort of the company to organize programs that involve in engaging the employees or communities, makes the workforce feel more satisfied about work and their well-being.
Hidden talent
CSR programs is the company’s way of giving back to the community. But along with the excitement and the break from a typical day at work, organizing community-based programs are a lot of work and may require extra work. It can also be a venue for some employees to explore other potential and develop talents and skills beyond what they do inside the office.
