BPO Investors Determined To Operate More Call Centers In The Philippines? Investors are seen to be bullish on the Negros Island Region for 2017 specifically in the areas of tourism, BPOs, construction and agriculture, Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. regional director for NIR and Western Visayas Frank Carbon said.

Capitalizing on its 5 million strong population, insurgency-free communities and paved roads, the Negros Island Region will have a boom economy over the other regions of the country beginning this year, Carbon said.

He said the island has sugar as base industry right in the middle of the country and other emerging industries coming. Investors will be lured by the prospect of having 5 million consumers.

“With Governor Alfredo Marañon and General Jon Aying at the helm of the provincial government and military command of the region, progress and peace and order is at hand”, he said adding that they are urging the governor to head the Regional Tourism Council which he said would help provide inclusive development growth and development.

He said the tourism industry encompasses various sectors like food, transportation, hotels and accommodations and others.

Negros Occidental and the whole NIR have ridge to reef attractions and from the numerous agro-eco-tourism farms that produce organically grown products with amenities, Carbon added.

He also said that the construction will be heavy due to commercial and mixed-use real estate developments from giant conglomerates of the country with investments in the province and the region.

There will be a steady growth on the influx of BPO investments being the leading provider of jobs to the young generations of workforce, he added.
